Immigration Informational Session

Community Event

In the wake of changes in policy regarding immigration enforcement, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS), we invite you to attend an Immigration Informational Session in February 3, 2018 at 10 am at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex located at 212 NE 59th Terrace, Miami, FL 33137.  This is an effort presented in partnership by Americans for Immigrant Justice, Catholic Legal Services, and the Miami Dade Branch of the NAACP.

This three-hour information session will cover the following substantive issues:

  1. Update on the state of current immigration issues and how it impacts our communities;
  2. Immigrant Rights under the Constitution; and
  3. A training on immigration legal screenings and assistance with work authorization renewals for the Haitian Community.

The goal of this event is not only to bring awareness to the issues that you can bring back to your communities, but ways to support our immigrant populations here in South Florida.  This informational session will be followed by a Legal Clinic where immigrants can receive a free legal screening and Haitian TPS recipients can receive assistance with renewal of their work authorization.  More information regarding this second event will be provided when confirmed.

Now, more than ever, it is important to be aware of how immigration policies can impact our loved ones, neighbors, and colleagues.  Please share this invitations with others who may be interested and RSVP to Ruban Roberts at r.roberts@rer-consulting.com.
